Sri Lanka to ban burqa and close 1,000 Islamic schools over national security concerns

Sri Lankan authorities will be roundly condemned as “Islamophobic” for this, despite the fact that Muslims continue to be perfectly free to practice Islam there. There is abundant evidence of criminal activity committed by people with faces covered, and of jihad indoctrination and recruitment in madrassas. Nevertheless, the left will continue to insist that Sri Lanka and all other non-Muslim countries must simply commit suicide rather than appear “Islamophobic.” Britain and others are happily complying. Sri Lanka has announced plans to ban the wearing of burqas and said it would close more than 1,000 Islamic schools known as madrassas, citing national security.

The minister of public security, Sarath Weerasekara, said he had signed a paper on Friday seeking the approval of the cabinet of ministers to ban burkas – outer garments that cover the body and face worn by some Muslim women.

“The burqa has a direct impact on national security,” Weerasekara told a ceremony at a Buddhist temple on Saturday. “In our early days, we had a lot of Muslim friends, but Muslim women and girls never wore the burqa,” Weerasekara said, according to video footage sent by his ministry. “It is a sign of religious extremism that came about recently. We will definitely ban it.”

The wearing of burqas was temporarily banned in 2019 after the Easter Sunday bomb attacks on churches and hotels in Sri Lanka that killed more than 260 people. Two local Muslim groups that had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group have been blamed for the attacks at six locations – two Roman Catholic churches, one Protestant church and three top hotels.

Weerasekara also said the government will ban more than 1,000 madrassas, saying they are not registered with the authorities and do not follow the national education policy….

Lawyer Viva Frei analyzes Canada’s crackdown on hate speech

Viva Frei, a Montreal lawyer who turned YouTuber, analyses and breaks down on his Vlawgs the possible implications on free speech in light of the federal government crackdown on “hate speech” on social media platform.

In his mandate letter to Steven Guilbeault, Minister of Canadian Heritage, Canada’s prime minister Justin Trudeau wrote:

I will expect you to work with your colleagues and through established legislative, regulatory and Cabinet processes to deliver on your top priorities. In particular, you will:.. Create new regulations for social media platforms, starting with a requirement that all platforms remove illegal content, including hate speech, within 24 hours or face significant penalties. This should include other online harms such as radicalization, incitement to violence, exploitation of children, or creation or distribution of terrorist propaganda.

Mubin Shaikh says Muslim leaders don’t believe “in bringing Shariah Law in Canada”

Born and raised in Canada, Mubin Shaikh is a former security intelligence and counter terrorism operative. At the age of 19, he went to India and Pakistan where he had a chance encounter with the Taliban prior to their takeover of Afghanistan in 1995. Mubin became fully radicalized as a supporter of the global Jihadist culture, recruiting others and establishing his network in the extremist milieu.

The 9/11 attacks forced to him reconsider his views. Returning to Canada in 2004, he became a undercover operator with the Canadian Security Intelligence Service and worked several CLASSIFIED investigations. In late 2005, one of those files moved to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET) and Mubin traversed to what came to be known as the “Toronto 18” terrorism case resulting in the conviction of 11 aspiring violent extremists.

He has since obtained a Master of Policing, Intelligence and Counter Terrorism (MPICT), is now a PhD candidate in Psychological Sciences studying radicalization, deradicalization and violent extremism at the University of Liverpool, Tactical Decision Making Research Group.

Background information

Your tweet (October 6, 2019):

“I don’t know what self-respecting Muslim would ever vote CPC. They absolutely HATE us. Most of these conspiracies about ShariahLaw, M103 etc., come from them (& their media arm REBEL TV), the other being the PPC of course.”

The Islamic organization Hezb ut-Tahrir Canada, senior Canadian Muslim scholars and Imams (Abu Ameena Bilal Philips, Taha Ghayyur, Kathreen Bullok, Abdul Hakim Quick, Ahmed Shehab to name a few) and Islamic literature available at Islamic centres (modern commentary of the Gardens of the Righteous by A-Nawawi) in Canada support the gradual implementation of the Sharia Law.

Questions

Based on your tweet do you suggest that the aforementioned organizations, Islamic centres, scholars and Imams also promote “conspiracies about Shariah Law”?

In your opinion do the aforementioned organizations, Islamic centres, scholars and Imams represent the true Islam?

I’ll appreciate a response by 4pm October 9, 2019. If you require more time please let me know.

On the same day Mubin Shaikh responded;

1. I know who you are and I don’t like you one bit.

2. None of those people you mentioned, believes in bringing Shariah Law in Canada. The 5th columnist HizbutTahreer group however, have this laughable dream that the world should come under ShariahLaw and those people can go f*ck themselves.

Cheers,
