Islam & the Future of Tolerance – In 2015 at Harvard University’s Institute of Politics Maajid Nawaz, Chairman of Quilliam, and Sam Harris, talk about their latest book. The books centers on the question is Islam a religion of Peace or War.

We could ask if ISIS, Al-Qaida, Boko-Haram, Hizb ut-Tahrir, Muslim Brotherhood are representatives of the TRUE Islam. The following will shed some clarity.

ICNA Canada is a charitable organization that has posted the following on their official Facebook page:

“It is incumbent on all Muslims to wage Jihad against them to wipe out Kufr (disbelief) and shirk (polytheism) and raise the banner of oneness of God everywhere… This Hadith strongly refutes the people who distort that Islam preaches defensive war only…”

Canadian Imam Abu Ameenha Bilal Philips said in a lecture:

“Islam is essentially a moral message. To implement that message it might require weapons. Primary goal of jihad is not to spill blood or acquire people’s land & property. But…”

Toronto Imam Shamir Ally said during an interview:

“ISIS published its manifesto. It cites verses of the Quran, the Hadith, rulings of Muslim scholars, and citations from tasveer, [commentary on the Quran], to justify their position. They are recruiting young people by giving them this ideology, peppered with all of these citations.”

Imam Yasir Qadhi in an interview speaking on the beheading crisis in France said:

In most Muslim countries of the world the armies of Islam came and then Islam spread after that.”

The following is from a highly influential web site Islam Q&A:

“The Muslims invaded India in 44 AH. They killed, took prisoners, captured booty. They entered Somnath and broke the greatest idol, captured its swords and necklaces. Then they returned safe and victorious.”

NCCM National Council of Muslims CEO Mustafa Farooq did say in a interview:

“How are we Muslims going to recreate Cordoba in Edmonton/Toronto/Montreal/ any Canadian city? We have a massive task ahead of us, but I really believe that it is one at which we can succeed, one in which we erase these artificial ‘nation-state‘ identities, and move together to pursue Jannah [paradise]”

Imam Abdool Hamid Of the Toronto Masjid and member of CCI Canadian Council of Imams said in a lecture

“Islam does not want to take over for the sake of taking over. Islam came to save the people. So, yes, changes have to be made. So it may seem from one perspective that Islam took over, so to speak.”
