NCCM: Workshop how to Use Media to Normalize View of Hijab & Islam as Champion of Human Rights

The National Council of Canadian Muslim AKA NCCM. is the largest and most influential Muslim advocacy group in Canada. In an ongoing miniseries of 4 segments we will learn about a workshop that empowers Muslim to engage at all levels to advocate for change that more reflects the values of Islam, Allah, the teachings of Prophet Mohammad PBUH & the Muslim community. This is part 2.

Hello Friends & Followers welcome to segment 2 of our 4 part series on   National Council of Canadian Muslim AKA. NCCM. We are learning about the changes, contribution & enrichments Canada is experiencing due to the continued dedication & of NCCM. This second workshop is titled  Engaging the media. In this workshop, participants learn the basics of how the media works, tools and tactics for engaging the media, dealing with controversial questions, generating positive coverage and more. Third modual in the work shop is titled  Story Telling: Reclaiming Our Narratives ยป This workshop is an exploration of the role of story-telling in shaping the understanding of diverse communities by mainstream society. Reflections on the mainstream narrative of Islam and Muslims, and a discussion around ways to offer a narrative that is more conducive to reflect positive experiences of Muslims living in Canada, with a specific focus on normalizing the hijab by associating it with the struggle for human rights and civil liberties.  >>Help me Help us to Help them.
