Ontario Lawyer Barbara Legate Organized Hijab Rally to support Muslim Community

Hijabs for Harmony, rally was organized by local London Ontario lawyer Barbara Legate

Women sporting the traditional headscarves were part of a crowd of about 500 people who gathered in London, Ontario, Friday evening June 19, 2021, in front of the bandshell in Victoria Park.

Also on hand was London North Centre NDP MPP Terence Kernaghan.

Kernaghan said he attended the rally to support a future where women can wear hijabs without fear

To further the development of Bridge building interfaith dialogue Let‘s us all learn the deeper spiritual meaning and significance of the Hijab. First we learn from Vancouver BC

Muftie Aasim Rashid

When she comes out she should conceal herself entirely; her whole body except for her hands and face must be covered. The face is not something that must be covered.

I now read an excerpt from the Book Islam Balancing Life that is Distributed at Dundas SQ.  AIQ

Hijab frees woman being perceived as sexual objects. Whereas when a woman chooses to show her body in one form or another, the message is; she wants attention and possibly much more.

We now learn from Shabbir Ally, Toronto Imam & president of the International Dawah association

Tell the believing women to draw a part of their outer garments around themselves or close to themselves so that they will be recognized and not molestedScholars have said the woman must cover her face when she goes out of her house

We learn more about the spiritual significance from Sheikh Ahmed Kutty a senior Imam at the Islamic institute of Toronto, whose son Faizal Kutty was a consultant for the CBC production of little mosque on the Prairie.

Modest attire for women that covers the whole body excluding the face and the hands is ordained by Allah in the Quran. No Muslim or Muslima can reject it on the grounds that,’ I am an adult and I can decide for myself

We continue along the bridge to interfaith with Imam Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips

Hijab it’s quite simple. Hijab is an obligation on Muslim women. And of course it doesn’t mean that if a Muslim woman doesn’t wear hijab she’s no longer a Muslim. But she is in sin if she doesn’t wear  the hijab. Hijab meaning that she covers her body, all of her body, in loose garment from head to toe. Nothing can be seen of her except for her face and hands.

In 2007, the Parliament of Canada proclaimed October Canadian Islamic History Month in recognition of the significant contributions the Muslim community has made to Canadian society.

Toronto district school board issued a resource guidebook for educators that is approved of by senior Muslim scholars. The section on Hijab

The hijab is a head scarf worn by some Muslim women who have reached adulthood as defined by the onset of puberty. Hijab is a piece of cloth that covers the hair, ears and neck, exposing only the face. all Muslim females wear the hijab. Female Muslim students may or may not wear the hijab based on individual choice.

In Conclusion we learn that women that wear the Hijab & are identified as Muslim women will not be molested/raped. We also learn that there is diversity of ruling as to weather a woman can exit the house with her face uncovered/exposed.

Thanks for watching IMFC…

Leave canadaian society alone its Canada and most people I find are not that religious as I am.\
Women can dress how they want to. I don,t even wear a silly mask in these stupid pandemic times.
I am not a fan of this Islam stuff here at all. I am sure most are like me and more.

    1. However the forward march of Islam cares little for the thoughts or feeling of people. Scholars teach that the will of Allah MHNBE is all the matters. Muslim are duty bound to bring about the Islamic world order. Did you know that?

    2. Many in Pakistan and Nigeria and Austria and Sweden and Iran and…feel as you do. However this has no affect on Islam’s continued forward March. Do you agree?
