Mahdai Lynn tells us that transgender in Islam has existed for centuries, dating to the time of the Sahaba.
Because the Trans community is already heavily marginalized, Lynn has a unique set of challenges ahead of her. We at MuslimGirl had the pleasure of talking to her about her goals in creating the Transgender Muslim Support Network and talking about the gifts and struggles that come with being Transgender and Muslim today
“When I was at my worst, I asked Allah (SWT) to keep me alive. When she listened to me, I figured it was probably a good idea to listen too.” I took the shahada a little bit after my 25th birthday. When I came to Islam, it sorta put me back in the closet. I was already seven years “post-transition” and living far away from where I grew up, so I decided it would be safest to keep my trans history quiet. LINK

Western university in London Ontario has deleted and apologized for a social media post showing two women in hijab about to kiss. The post garnered criticism from some members of the Muslim community including Abd Alfatah Twakkal, Imamof the largest mosque in London Ontario. Canada Islam Homosexual Rights
Alan Shepard, President & Vice-Chancellor of Western University, is aware that Homosexuality and Gay Rights is an issue on which the mainstream Muslim leadership has made itself clear. Alan Shepard has signaled with his apology that, when Muslim sensibilities clash with LGBTQ rights, the rights and sensibilities of the Muslim community will prevail.
Right Wing sites have accused Alan Shepard of capitulating to Muslim demands because he prefers that to having Muslims go on a killing rampage. They refer to the beheading – macheting to death of teachers in France and Bangladesh to legitimize propagating such opinions. What these Right Wingers fail to take into account is a contextualized understanding of the teachings of Sheik Yasir Qadhiwho said, regarding the beheading of the teacher in France:
These actions have pros and cons that must be taken into account. These actions might do more harm than good to the Muslim community especially when we are still a minority.

The answer is that it depends on whom you ask. Within the Muslim community there are those who advocate for homosexuality in Islam and promote homosexual Imams. Example would be Irshad Manji and Rahil Raza, two leaders of the Muslim reform movement. This is in contrast to the overwhelming majority of the Canadian Muslim leadership who openly teach that homosexuality is a perversion and disease.
Canadian Imams make clear the penalty for homosexuality in Islam is death. There is however diversity in the method to be used to execute.
Click hearto view Canadian Imams teaching both adults and children on execution of Homos as being Islamicly mandated by Allah.
Diversity is a strength that within a consensuses can bring greater strength. Islam Question and Answer, brings both diversity and igima (consensus) to the teachings and wisdom of the Canadian Muslim leadership on the issue of executing homosexuals.
What is the punishment for homosexuality? Is there any differentiation between the one who does it and the one to whom it is done?
Answer
Execution of convicted homosexual
The Sahaabah were unanimously agreed on the execution of homosexuals, but they differed as to how they were to be executed. Some of them were of the view that they should be burned with fire, which was the view of ‘Ali (may Allaah be pleased with him) and also of Abu Bakr (may Allaah be pleased with him), as we shall see below. And some of them thought that they should be thrown down from a high place then have stones thrown at them. This was the view of Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him).
Some of them thought that they should be stoned to death, which was narrated from both ‘Ali and Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with them).
After the Sahaabah, the fuqaha’ differed concerning the matter. Some of them said that the homosexual should be executed no matter what his situation, whether he is married or not.
Conclusion: Alan Shepard President & Vice-Chancellor of Western University concluded that it is not worth putting the lives of teachers or the destruction of university property in jeopardy in order to make a statement supporting LGBTQ+ rights. This is especially so when it seems obvious that LGBTQ+ rights are an affront to the values of Canadian Muslims. Canada Islam Homosexual Rights
Muslim males can penetrate the anus and Muslim males can have their anuses penetrated. Some interpret this as Islam allowing for homosexuality. However penetrating an anus or having your anus penetrated is only permitted in a given context. Muslim homosexual anal penetration is not to be done for pleasure but only to advance the cause of Allah.
A Muslim man seeking martyrdom was seeking a second opinion regarding anal penetration.

First we’d like to show you a fatwa, which appeared on the Lions of Sunnah internet forum. One wahhabi wrote:
Unity Mosque parishioners believe their version of Islam is true Islam, but they recognize that for most Muslims it is marginal. El-Faruk Khaki, a migrant of Indian origin from Tanzania, is a founders of the chapel. He and her husband, Troy Jackson.
Dear Sheik, may Allah Grant you martyrdom, and black-eyed virgins in paradise, I wanted to commit a martyrdom operation. I turned to Sheik Abu Dimaa Al-Qassab, who told me that they had invented a new and unprecedented form of martyrdom operation – explosive capsules are inserted into your anus. In order to train for this method of jihad, you must consent to being sodomized for a period of time, so that your anus becomes wider, making room for more explosives. My question is whether I am permitted to allow one of the mujahideen access to my anus, if my intentions are honorable, and the purpose is to train for jihad by widening my anus.
The Sheik praised Allah and said:
In principle, sodomy is forbidden. However, jihad is more important. It is the Pinnacle of Islam. Then there is no harm in it. The rule is that necessity makes the forbidden permissible. Something that is required in order to perform a duty becomes a duty in and of itself. No duty takes precedence over jihad. Therefore, you must be sodomized. After you have been sodomized, you must ask Allah for forgiveness. Know, my son, that Allah resurrects the mujahedeen on Judgment Day on the basis of their intentions. Allah willing, your intention is to support Islam. May Allah include you among those who heed his call.
This is the fatwa that led a man a while ago to carry out a bombing attack against then interior minister naif Bim Abd Al Aziz.

Islamic Method to Kill Homosexuals. In Islam there is no stipulated or preferred method to kill homosexuals. Rather, there is diversity of opinion on the appropriate method to be used. However, all schools of Islam, Shia and Sunni, agree that the killing of homosexuals is beyond debate or question. This has been Islamic doctrine since the time of the Prophet Mohammad PBUH.
Method for Killing Homosexuals Contextualized within the Islamic Geographic Context.
Man just falling thrown off a great height
There are 4 methods that are employed when killing homosexuals. The method depends on factors such as terrain, height of local buildings, the availability or abundance of fire wood, rocks or simply the preference of the local judge or Sharia council.

If there’s a homosexual man, the punishment is one of five things. One, the easiest one may be, is to chop off their head, that’s the easiest. Second, burn them to death. Third, throw them off a cliff. Fourth, tear down a wall on them so they die under that. Fifth a combination of the above.

The ‘All of the above” comment is not to be taken seriously. The Imam was being humorous. This is clear to any that watches the video.
Tolerance for Diversity of Methods can be traced back to the Beginning of Islam
We learn from Islam Q & A. Ahmad (2915) narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas
The Sahaabah (companions of the Prophet) were unanimouslyagreed on the execution of homosexuals, but they differed as to how they were to be executed. Some of them were of the view that they should be burned with fire, which was the view of ‘Ali (may Allaah be pleased with him) and also of Abu Bakr (may Allaah be pleased with him), as we shall see below. What is the position of Islam on the issue of Homosexuality? Senior Canadian Imams have made the position clear.
Wael Shihab, Imam of Masjid Toronto, affiliated with the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC):
Islam forbids homosexuality and lesbianism. Same-sex marriage poses a serious and dangerous threat to human societies and communities. Same-sex marriage endangers family atmosphere where children should be morally raised. Gay relationships pose serious dangers to the family institution. Same-sex marriage, moreover, threatens the existence of human species. Such relationships could not build human communities or secure the existence of humans

The scheming. They are not going to come to you straight forward. And that is the approach of evil always. Like Satan said to Adam ‘just see the tree. Do not eat from the tree is is forbidden. We are dealing with that scheming here. I read in some history how the the ABGT Groups in America managed to be accepted in our community in a 20 year’s time… We cannot inflict any harm upon them whatsoever. We cannot do that. That is a disclaimer before I even speak. That we are not inciting hate towards that particular group. No! I am trying to protect my children... Number one, brothers and sisters in Islam, the source of what is right, what is wrong is Allah. Not voting, not democracy, Allah tells me that intercourse has to be done within wedlock, in marriage between a man and a woman, that’s it… He is trying to tell you that the source of character, morality, the source of what is right and what is wrong, what is accepted and what is not accepted is Islam, is Allah. Assured us, asserted us that he created us male and female. There is no third. There is no other. I had an interview with a 25-year experienced teacher in the public school system, not a Muslim. I am not belittling her– she can choose whatever religion she wants. Not a Muslim. The amount of strategizing, the amount of scheming to confuse your children in the public school system about their gender. Here is the interesting piece – they associate this with Black Lives Matter. We know that there is some issue with treating the African American community in America. We have seen George Floyd. …. If your guy is going to push your agenda lets include that agenda too. So, part of the Black Lives Matter curriculum to spread good treatment of African American community is this – is to include the LGBT groups. If you are going to push this one, we have to be there because we are oppressed too… Emphasize the gender to you boys. Come on, man – you are a boy, man! What colour is this you are wearing? pink?…. Sports. Basketball is a good thing…. That is a good training, basketball, swimming, archery, horseback-riding. Do not teach them golfing. Teach them something that fits. Girls, teach them sewing. You’ve got to keep them busy
To add further context to this lecture and the diversity of opinion regarding this issue, we include guidance from the popular site Islam Q&A
Islam Q&A is an academic, educational, da‘wah website which aims to offer advice and academic answers based on evidence from religious texts in an adequate and easy-to-understand manner. These answers are supervised by Shaykh Muhammad Saalih al-Munajjid.
Question
What is the punishment for homosexuality? Is there any differentiation between the one who does it and the one to whom it is done?
al-Tirmidhi (1456), Abu Dawood (4462) and Ibn Maajah (2561) narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas said: The Messenger of Allaah said: “Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Loot, execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.”. Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.
The Sahaabah were unanimously agreed on the execution of homosexuals, but they differed as to how they were to be executed. Some of them were of the view that they should be burned with fire, which was the view of ‘Ali and also of Abu Bakr, as we shall see below. And some of them thought that they should be thrown down from a high place then have stones thrown at them. This was the view of Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him).
The scholars differed as to whether it is to be punished more severely than zina, or whether the punishment for zina should be more severe, or whether the punishments should be the same. There are three points of view:
Abu Bakr al-Siddeeq, ‘Ali ibn Abi Taalib, Khaalid ibn al-Waleed, ‘Abd-Allaah ibn al-Zubayr, ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Abbaas, Maalik, Ishaaq ibn Raahawayh, Imam Ahmad according to the more sound of the two reports from him and al-Shaafa’i according to one of his opinions, were of the view that the punishment for homosexuality should be more severe than the punishment for zina, and the punishment is execution in all cases, whether the person is married or not.
