Is CBC Suppressing Muslim Voices Concerning Taliban’s Rise to Power? In August of 2021, the Americans withdrew from Afghanistan, which permitted the Taliban to regain control. The CBC reported extensively on this from many angles: human rights, women’s rights, education, interpreters, airport explosion, etc.

One angle that seems to be missing from the extensive coverage of the rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan is the voice of Canadian Muslim leaders. As of September 8, 2021, a search on CBC web site revealed nothing that referred to Canadian Imam Younus Kathrada’s statements about the Taliban.

Imam Younus Kathrada is a senior l leader in Canada, who has clearly spoken about the Taliban’s rise to power in Afghanistan.

I incite you to show support for your brothers in Afghanistan who wants to establish the Shari’a in their land. We see that the West wants to talk about the rights of women. Oh yes, the rights of women, her right to be a prostitute, her right to sleep around with whomever she wishes. I want you to understand what those rights are, oh, by the way, her right to be abused, her right to show her body off to men who gets off on watching her in porn. Allah Grant victory to the mujahideen for your sake everywhere. Allah grant success to our brothers in Afghanistan. So that they establish your Sharia on this land.

Why has the CBC given no coverage to Canadian Imam Younus Kathrada’s statements on the rise to power of the Taliban in Afghanistan when said statement was covered by independent media?

Why has the CBC given no coverage to Canadian Imam Younus Kathrada’s statements on Palestine and al-Aqsa Mosque made over the last several years? These statements were made public by independent media. Why did the CBC see fit to ignore them?

Canada London Family Act NCCM with the assistance of the CBC and all major media broadcasted the list of demands to all Canadians on July 19, 2021. Mustafa Farooq CEO of National Council of Canadian Muslims is helping propel the Muslim community concern of Islamophobia.

Education Reform: Removing Islamophobic content,
White Supremacy: Prevent white supremacist groups incorporating
Hate Crime Unite: Allocate considerable funding,
Anti-Racism: Funding councils to combat negative attitudes
Minority Recruitment: Regulate minority representation
Human Rights Complaints: Increase accessibility and aid for those making a complaint

Canada London Family Act will usher in the systemic dismantling of the Western Christian ethos. It will be replaced with a ethos that is biased for everything that is not European, Western or Christian. Ex: The Crusades will be taught from the Islamic perspective. Hijabs for Harmony, rally was organized by local London Ontario lawyer Barbara Legate

Women sporting the traditional headscarves were part of a crowd of about 500 people who gathered in London, Ontario, Friday evening June 19, 2021, in front of the bandshell in Victoria Park.

Also on hand was London North Centre NDP MPP Terence Kernaghan.

Kernaghan said he attended the rally to support a future where women can wear hijabs without fear

Hijab it’s quite simple. Hijab is an obligation on Muslim women. And of course it doesn’t mean that if a Muslim woman doesn’t wear hijab she’s no longer a Muslim. But she is in sin if she doesn’t wear the hijab. Hijab meaning that she covers her body, all of her body, in loose garment from head to toe. Nothing can be seen of her except for her face and hands.

The hijab is a head scarf worn by some Muslim women who have reached adulthood as defined by the onset of puberty. Hijab is a piece of cloth that covers the hair, ears and neck, exposing only the face. all Muslim females wear the hijab. Female Muslim students may or may not wear the hijab based on individual choice.

In Conclusion we learn that women that wear the Hijab & are identified as Muslim women will not be molested/raped. We also learn that there is diversity of ruling as to weather a woman can exit the house with her face uncovered/exposed.

Mohammed Hashim reinvents Islam by accepting multiple gender identities

Mohammed Hashim is “a labour and human rights advocate working as the Senior Organizer for the Toronto and York Region Labour Council” and “a Founding Advisor of Progress Toronto.” According to his bio on progresstoronto.ca Mohammed Hashim “advocates on issues related to workers’ rights at the municipal level and is a leader on the promotion of equity issues and tackling Islamophobia.”

On January 2nd, 2019 Mohammed Hashim publicly criticized the Islamic Party of Ontario led by Jawed Anwar and specifically its goal to implement the sharia Islamic law and his “homophobic” platform. Hashim wrote (Facebook):

“Equally nutters is this Javed Anwer [sic] guy creating an Islamic Party of Ontario. He’s a Doug Ford [Ontario Premier] supporter! and to call someone an ‘enemy of Islam’?? Who made you God? But beyond that, I don’t know where he gets this idea that implementing sharia law on everyone is a good idea. It’s a mostly secular democratic system buddy,that strives for universal human rights. His platform is homophobic, misogynistic and surely does not represent my Islam.”

The Islamic Party of Ontario’s platform on LGBTQ issues reads:

“Allah has created two genders: men and women. Any physical defect in any organ of a person doesn’t change one’s gender identification and sexual orientation. All the communities of all the faiths believe in it; modern science proves it. The concept of “gender identity” is a false concept.”

Based only on Canadian authentic sources I’ve learned that the Islamic Party of Ontario’s position on LGBTQ reflects the true teaching of Islam. Allah said in the holy Koran (Surah Al-Hujjurat 49:13) “O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another.” There is a consensus among the senior Canadian Muslim scholars that liberal concept of gender identity is foreign to Islam. My thorough search failed to find any respected Canadian scholars who support you position on LGBTQ.

Media Inquiry

Can you please provide the Islamic sources that led you to unequivocally reject the aforementioned Islamic Party of Ontario’s platform on LGBTQ while stating “[it] surely does not represent my Islam”?

Does your reformed version of Islam recognize liberal concept of gender identity and the existence of multiple genders in contradiction to Allah’s holy Koran, Prophet Mohammad’s (pbuh), the sahaba and the teachings of the great scholars of Islam?

What are your qualifications in Islamic studies? Are they sufficient to challenge the great scholars of Islam and the consensus among the senior Muslim scholars in Canada?

An article on this issue will be published by the end of the week. A response by 11am Wednesday will be much appreciated.
