The Source of Morality for Muslims

Islam enjoys a rich tradition of jurisprudence that allows for diverse perspectives and accommodates various cultural norms. However, particular principles that are explicitly stated in revelation, known to be necessary elements of Islam, and unanimously agreed upon by qualified scholars are deemed immutable and not open to revision by any person or entity, including the highest religious authorities.

Canadians are quick to point out ISIS is wrong. Islam is compatible with a free and open society like Canada. We are a country defined on shared values that go beyond religion or ethnicity or language.

Islam’s Position on Sexuality and Gender

By a decree from God, sexual relations are permitted within the bounds of marriage, and marriage can only occur between a man and a woman.

God defined humanity as consisting of males and females and declared that He “… created [humans] from a male and a female and made [them] into peoples and tribes.

After meeting thousands of Syrian refugees and listening more about their faith, I have learned to love Islam. Islam promotes peace and is in fact more peaceful than Christianity. Islam is the religion that I identify with.

In Islam, the sinful actions of an individual do not and should not dictate his or her identity. As such, it is impermissible for Muslims to take pride in identifying with labels that categorize them by their sins. It is important to note that the stance of Islam on illicit sexual relations goes hand in hand with its protection and promotion of the individual’s right to privacy. Islam prohibits prying into others’ private lives and discourages public disclosure of sexual behavior.

For me, this moment of Ramadan is a time to reflect on the values of empathy, generosity and compassion, charity and also discipline. They are not just Muslim values but Canadian values.

Our Constitutional Right to Hold Our Views

We recognize that our moral code conflicts with the goals of LGBTQ proponents. We acknowledge their constitutional right to live in peace and free from abuse. Nevertheless, we emphasize our God-given and constitutional rights to hold, live by, and promote our religious beliefs in the best manner (Quran, al-Naḥl: 125) without fear of legal reprisal or systematic marginalization. Peaceful coexistence does not necessitate agreement, acceptance, affirmation, promotion, or celebration.

We call on policymakers to protect our constitutional right to practice our religious beliefs freely, without fear of harassment, and to oppose any legislation seeking to stifle the religious freedoms of faith communities.

As Canadians we must be standing up against intolerance, standing up against homophobia, and we need to double down on what we know to be true: that compassion openness and respect and love is the only way forward for this world.

To Our Muslim Community

We urge Muslim public figures to uphold the sanctity of our faith and refrain from making erroneous pronouncements on behalf of Islam. We reject any attempt to attribute positions to Islam concerning sexual and gender ethics that contravene well-established Islamic teachings.

I attended the Reviving the Islamic Spirit in person 3 years ago. I have had the pleasure of sharing the message every year since. This is also about sharing our shared beliefs and justice, fairness and equality of opportunity and acceptance.

Freedom of expression is not unlimited. communities are experiencing huge discrimination in Canada today.. everyone must act respectfully, and not need to arbitrarily hurt someone. Our society is based on respecting others, listening and learning.

Defaming the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is a kind of kufr. If that is done by a Muslim then it is apostasy on his part, and the authorities have to defend the cause of Allaah and His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) by executing the one who defamed him. If the one who defamed him repents openly and is sincere, that will benefit him before Allaah, although his repentance does not waive the punishment for defaming the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), which is execution. 

If the person who defames him is a non-Muslim living under a treaty with the Muslim state, then this is a violation of the treaty and he must be executed, but that should be left to the authorities.

Then he (that Ansaari) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said: “The Ghaamidi woman has given birth to a child.” He (the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)) said: “Then we will not stone her and so leave her child with no one to nurse him.” One of the Ansaar stood up and said: “O Messenger of Allaah, let me be responsible for ensuring that he is nursed.” Then she was stoned to death. 

We find ourselves in a culture that is radically different from the culture from where we come.

This is my fatwa of a Muslim man marrying a Christian or a Jewish lady I think it’s not allowed in this land I think it’s only allowed in a Muslim Nation. this is my fatwa based upon my understanding of the Sharia. Ibin Abbas had the same fatwa that the concession for a Muslim man only applies when the society is Muslim. When the society is non-muslim we don’t have this concession. Therefore we have to tell our young men we are not allowing you to marry outside of our faith. This is the fatwa I give…

Islamic Method to Kill Homosexuals. In Islam there is no stipulated or preferred method to kill homosexuals. Rather, there is diversity of opinion on the appropriate method to be used. However, all schools of Islam, Shia and Sunni, agree that the killing of homosexuals is beyond debate or question. This has been Islamic doctrine since the time of the Prophet Mohammad PBUH.

Method for Killing Homosexuals Contextualized within the Islamic Geographic Context.

There are 4 methods that are employed when killing homosexuals. The method depends on factors such as terrain, height of local buildings, the availability or abundance of fire wood, rocks or simply the preference of the local judge or Sharia council.

If there’s a homosexual man, the punishment is one of five things. One, the easiest one may be, is to chop off their head, that’s the easiest. Second, burn them to death. Third, throw them off a cliff. Fourth, tear down a wall on them so they die under that. Fifth a combination of the above.

The ‘All of the above” comment is not to be taken seriously. The Imam was being humorous. This is clear to any that watches the video.

The Sahaabah (companions of the Prophet) were unanimously agreed on the execution of homosexuals, but they differed as to how they were to be executed. Some of them were of the view that they should be burned with fire, which was the view of ‘Ali (may Allaah be pleased with him) and also of Abu Bakr (may Allaah be pleased with him), as we shall see below. And some of them thought that they should be thrown down from a high place, then have stones thrown at them. This was the view of Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him).

Conclusion on Islamic Method to Kill Homosexuals.

We learn that within Islam there is diversity of opinion on the method. This makes it clear that Islam is tolerant of a permitted amount of diversity.

Canadian Imams, LGBTQ & Homosexuality when mixed in a conversation, usually result in language deemed unacceptable to supporters of progressivism. This language seemingly contradicts the narrative that Islam accepts and tolerates LGBTQ+ or Transgender non-binary persons.

Canadian Imams LGBTQ Homosexuality Conclusion:

Islam does not accept or tolerate homosexuality. When the Muslim community has an opportunity, it will advocate for criminalizing homosexuality. Individual Muslims will openly commit murder and accept the consequences as a sacrifice for Allah. The community will venerate them as heroes .
